Paul Chatelier, Research Fellow

Mr. Chatelier is a Research Fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies. He is a former Navy Captain who served as an Aviation Psychologist for over 24 years. His duty assignments focused on the research, development, application, and management of human factors, simulation, education and training, of defense technology. Throughout his military and post military career he has maintained his technical and organizational awareness by authoring numerous books and articles and by serving on Navy and OSD science and technology boards. His two year appointment to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy broadened his knowledge base allowing him to easily move from military S&T policy to Federal S&T policy in the areas of human factors, education and training.

His responsibilities at the Potomac Institute include program manager for an ONR contract on Intelligent Work Management, developing Navy transition strategy for selected ONR programs, and serving as a US Delegate at Large to the NATO Human Factors and Medical Panel where he is responsible for human factors and training technology. He has recently been assisting the ONR Technology Solutions Office in the development of their strategic plan for future technology opportunities and for Human Systems Integration.

Mr. Chatelier and his wife Mary reside in Springfield, Virginia. They have two children and one granddaughter.
