Leah Reeves, Director of the Human Integration Technology Assessment Center

Leah Reeves recently joined the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies to take over as Director of the Human Integration Technology Assessment Center. Leah will be the lead Human Systems Engineer for Potomac’s work with ONR Code 30’s Human Performance Training and Survivability (HPT&S) thrust and Code 34’s Virtual Environments and Technologies (VIRTE) program. Leah’s previous 15 years of Human Systems Engineering experience include: PI for a Phase 1 and research/engineering advisor for Phase 2 of an OSD SBIR grant focused on developing multimodal information design support tools for C4ISR systems; research/engineering advisor on numerous other SBIRs and contracts; sub-contracting for Lockheed Martin Advanced Technologies Laboratory for Phases 1, 2, and 3 of DARPA’s Augmented Cognition Program; working for IBM's Human Factors Speech Interface Group; developing and presenting Human Factors Engineering tutorials/workshops for international conferences; Design and Usability Engineering work for various industry and government entities, including: Microsoft, Motorola, RPR Pharmaceuticals, Time Warner Cable (now Brighthouse Networks), the FAA, and the U.S. Army and Navy, and; numerous publications in various human systems engineering-focused journals, conferences, magazines and books. With the aid of an ONR-sponsored fellowship under LCDR Dylan Schmorrow’s leadership, Leah is completing her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida this spring, with a specialty in Human Engineering and Ergonomics and a focus on Human-System Integration (HSI) issues associated with interactive multimodal systems.
