Post-Cold War Threats to National Security Wednesday, October 6, 1999 Featured Speaker: Former CIA Director R. James Woolsey Mr. Woolsey discussed an article he co-authored with Senator Richard G. Lugar (R-IN) in Foreign Affairs entitled "The New Petroleum," as well as other national security issues, specifically those related to Russia and China. Mr. Woolsey is a partner at the law firm of Shea & Gardner in Washington D.C. He returned to the firm in January 1995 after serving two years as Director of Central Intelligence. Mr. Woolsey has lectured and written extensively on the subjects of foreign affairs, defense, energy, and intelligence.
