KGoodsonThe Potomac Institute for Policy Studies is pleased to announce Dr. Kathy Goodson as a new Vice President.

“We are excited to have Kathy continue to grow as part of the Potomac Institute family.  Kathy is known for being a goal-oriented team leader and brings her dedication to promoting science and technology innovations and solutions,” says Dr. Jennifer Buss, Potomac Institute President. Dr. Goodson brings enthusiasm and the exceptional quality of fostering collaborative environments to her new position.

Dr. Goodson began her work at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies four years ago leading the educational outreach components of a joint Potomac Institute and Office of Corrosion Policy and Oversight effort. Dr. Goodson served as the Associate Editor of STEPS (Science, Technology and Engineering Policy Studies), the technical publication of the Potomac Institute featuring scholarly articles for policy studies communities.

Dr. Goodson currently manages a variety of Secretary of Defense and Naval science and technology projects related to education and training, strategic and execution, and mission assessment.  Dr. Goodson has had the opportunity to work on a variety of efforts that enhance the contributions of science and technology for government customers including, ADL, ONR, NASA, and the CPO.

Dr. Goodson completed her studies for a doctorate in biochemistry from the University of Maryland, College Park, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry.  Dr. Goodson received her B.S. in Chemistry from Virginia State University.  Raised in a military family, Dr. Goodson currently resides in Maryland with husband, Doff, and son, Theodore.
