The Potomac Institute Internship Program (for undergraduate, graduate, or recently graduated students) hosts interns with a variety of academic backgrounds that relate to the science, technology, and national security missions of the Institute. The Institute strives to provide a versatile experience for each internship participant, and some unique qualities of the program include policy research, conference attendance, publication acknowledgements, and networking. Below are our current policy interns.

John Jeffrey, The George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs

John Jeffrey is a Junior at The George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs, where he studies International Affairs with a concentration in International Development. John is currently conducting a research project, that will focus on property rights in outer space.

Jasmine Schmidt, University of Texas at Arlington

Jasmine Schmidt graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington, where she studied Political Science and Spanish. She has previously worked as an intern at an international NGO, focusing on human rights and migration policy, and currently works at a non-profit conducting workforce development programs for the unemployed in the DC region. Jasmine is looking forward to contributing to the research efforts at the Potomac Institute, and is currently researching technologies and accompanying policies to mitigate climate change.

Our Mission

The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies is an independent, 501(c)(3), not-for-profit public policy research institute. The Institute identifies and aggressively shepherds discussion on key science and technology issues facing our society. From these discussions and forums, we develop meaningful science and technology policy options and ensure their implementation at the intersection of business and government.
