Prof. Yonah Alexander, PhD, Director of the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies' International Center for Terrorism Studies, is founder and editor of the newly launched online publication Terrorism: An Electronic Journal and Knowledge Base (www.terrorismelectronicjournal.org).

In Notes from the Editor published in the first edition of the new journal, Prof. Alexander writes, "It is hoped that Terrorism: An Electronic Journal and Knowledge Base will establish itself as a thought-provoking and academically stimulating tool of literature in furthering the cause of peace with justice."

The new journal is a follow-up to Terrorism: An International Journal published in 1977 and also founded by Prof. Alexander, who at that time served as Director of the State University of New York’s Institute for Studies in International Terrorism.  Terrorism: An Electronic Journal and Knowledge Base will provide continuity to earlier studies on the “Age of Terrorism” as well as closing research gaps in the growing literature on the manifold aspects of the subject. This new electronic resource will focus on identifying warning signals on diverse forms of terrorism in the post-9/11 era, and will recommend national, regional, and global strategies to confront the potential challenges to all societies.

Terrorism: An Electronic Journal and Knowledge Base will publish two issues annually with periodic updates as deemed necessary.
