Joe VanHoozer, PhD, Academic Fellow

Dr. Joe VanHoozer has specialized experience evaluating unique human analog and digital psychometric behavior patterns (macro and micro) and learning strategies to better anticipate, predict, and assess communications attributes, strengths, and vulnerabilities. His work also focuses on strategic and tactical applications, crowd behavior analysis, and development of
special behavior programs.  He has consulting capabilities in assessing various kinds of human behavior, red teaming for tactical, strategic, and presentations uses, and alternative “human terrain” management options.

Dr. VanHoozer founded Human Learning Dynamics, LLC - a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business - in 1992, in Southeastern Idaho, along with his partner, Dr. S. A. Brown. He is the developer and Coach/Trainer of Human Learning Dynamics Perception Protocols Model (PPM) and Precision Influence Engineering (PIE) methodologies and co-developer of HLD Transitioning to Successful Learning Patterns to assist students in changing from inappropriate task applications for a variety of subjects to success models for those subjects. For almost 30 years he has maintained an Ericksonian (Milton H. Erickson, MD, PhD) utilization methodology private practice (in the U. S. and abroad) for behavior intervention with emphases on hypnotherapy and the new science of the study of subjective behavior, Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Concurrently, he operated and managed another educational organization, the Institute for Ethical and Clinical Hypnosis, as a satellite office under the excellent tutelage of Dr. Masud Ansari of Washington, D. C., teaching various levels of states of consciousness recognition, use of traditional and Ericksonian hypnosis, and linguistic patterns specific to hypnotherapy for use in a myriad of applications. In this regard, Dr. VanHoozer approved and bestowed certificates of training for basic, advanced, and Certified Hypnotherapist. The diploma for Clinical Hypnotherapist was recognized by the American Board of Hypnotherapy, National Guild of Hypnotists, the American Institute of Hypnotherapists, and accepted for CEU credits
with Eastern Idaho Technical College.

Dr. VanHoozer is a Certified Master Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner, a Certified Hypnotherapist, a Life Member of the American Association of Professional Hypnotherapists (AAPH), holds a Fellow of Clinical Hypnotherapy from the AAPH, and is a current MENSA member. He is a past member of the National Guild of Hypnotists and the American Board of Hypnotherapists. During his nearly 21 year military career, he served in such assignments as White House Liaison
for the Secretary of Defense, the Special Liaison Office at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Headquarters (NATO) in Brussels, Belgium - where he assisted in the conduct of NATO Ministerials, provided support during visits by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (Permanent US Military Representative [US MILREP] to NATO), and also coordinated with the
Department of State for visits by the (then) Vice President of the United States, George Herbert Walker Bush, and during exercises for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where he performed intelligence and administrative analysis and developed computer models to evaluate performance of personnel and equipment. His other military assignments included those of Combat Engineer, Administrator, and Drug and Alcohol Counselor.

He is a two-tour Vietnam veteran who earned two Purple Heart Medals, the Meritorious Service Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, Army Good Conduct Medal - six awards, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal
with Eight Battle Stars, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, National Defense Service Medal, Secretary of Defense Identification Badge, and various other honors, awards, and decorations.
