Senior Vice President Jamie Barnett on CNN

Senior Vice President of Academic Programs and Research Jamie Barnett, Jr., RDML USNR (Ret.), serves on the executive advisory council for Mission: Readiness, a group of retired military officers dedicated to combating obesity and health problems in the young. In this capacity, RDML Barnett is a leading advocate for youth fitness as a national security issue.  In an appearance on CNN, he talked about the latest findings by Mission: Readiness, indicating that too many of the nation's young people are still "too fat to fight": ineligible for military service because of their weight. Prof. Yonah Alexander Is Editor of New Online Terrorism Journal

Prof. Yonah Alexander, PhD, Director of the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies' International Center for Terrorism Studies, is founder and editor of the newly launched online publication Terrorism: An Electronic Journal and Knowledge Base (www.terrorismelectronicjournal.org).

In Notes from the Editor published in the first edition of the new journal, Prof. Alexander writes, "It is hoped that Terrorism: An Electronic Journal and Knowledge Base will establish itself as a thought-provoking and academically stimulating tool of literature in furthering the cause of peace with justice."

Senior Fellow Alden Munson in the Los Angeles Times

In the News

Alden Munson is a Senior Fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies , an advisor to government and industry in space and intelligence, and a former US deputy director of national intelligence for acquisition and technology.  In comments to the Los Angeles Times, he weighed in on NASA's multibillion dollar Mars exploration program, and the enduring allure of space exploration itself. Associate Academic Fellow Khatuna Mshvidobadze Blogs on Runet Crackdown

Associate Academic Fellow Khatuna Mshvidobadze, MBA, is part of the Potomac Institute Cyber Center.  A native of Georgia, Ms. Mshvidobadze is currently working on a major project researching the role of Russian social media in Russian politics and elections.  In her latest post on the PICC blogsite, she writes that Russian president Vladimir Putin "appears now to understand that the Web plays an immense role in forming the mindset of the people."  This awakening, she writes, is leading to a predictable crackdown on the Runet, Russia's internet.  Click here to read the full post on the Cyber Center blog.
