Potomac Institute and ALRI Team Up for Terrorism Course 6 March, 2003 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Arlington, VA – The Potomac Institute is proud to announce that it is presenting a course for members of the Arlington Learning in Retirement Institute (ALRI) in the “Fundamentals of Terrorism” during April and May. Course lectures and material include: Psychology of Suicide (Homicide) Terrorism, Cyber Terrorism, Biological Terrorism, Chemical Terrorism, First Responders, Terrorism and Civil Liberties, and ‘Dirty’ nuclear terrorism and devices. Instructors will be drawn from Potomac’s distinguished staff of world-class experts, including: Mr. Michael Swetnam, co-author of Osama bin Laden and the al Qaida Network (also Chairman and CEO of Potomac); Dr. Dennis McBride, President of Potomac, and professor and author of dozens of papers on extreme behavior; Dr. Stephen Prior, Director of the National Security Health Policy Center and an advisor to the White House; Professor Yonah Alexander, author of over 80 books on terrorism including the recently acclaimed Combating Terrorism: Strategies of Ten Countries and Director of the International Center for Terrorism Studies; Mr. David Siegrist, author of Hot Zone’99 dealing with biological and chemical defense; Mr. Dan Gallington, study director of the Institute’s PROJECT GUARDIAN, which is exploring the balance between civil liberties and national security; and Dr. David Kay, a former chief UN weapons inspector in Iraq after the Gulf War. ALRI is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to providing non-credit, short, college-level courses and educational events for persons over 50 years of age in the D.C. area.
