Reservist Recalled from Potomac Honored at U.S. CENTCOM 15 January, 2003 Arlington, VA – Major Anthony J. Sinnott, USMC now on active duty with the United States Central Command at MacDill AFB near Tampa, Florida has been selected as the 2002 U.S. Central Command Individual Augmentee (IMA) of the Year from a group of over 500 officers. In his letter to Sinnott, Rear Admiral J. A. Robb, Director, Plans and Policy, noted that this award is given to the “one person who most exhibits the qualities of superior professionalism and deportment”. “You can be justifiably proud of your selection. Your duty performance over the past year has been superior, above standard and deservedly commendable. Your professional military bearing and enthusiastic dedication to duty have served as examples for all to emulate”, said Robb. CENTCOM is one of nine Combatant Commands assigned operational control of U.S. Combat forces. U.S. CENTCOM’s Commander, General Tommy R. Franks reports directly to the Secretary of Defense, who in turn reports to the President of the United States. While at Potomac, Sinnott prepared analyses of U.S. military policies and programs while assigned to the Center for Emerging Threats and Opportunities.
