David Kay to Speak at Georgetown University on National Security

Washington, D.C. – On March 25 at 1:00 p.m., Dr. David Kay, former Special Assistant to the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and former head of the Iraqi Survey Group, will speak at Georgetown University. His topic, “Why and How We Were Almost All Wrong,” will focus on the United States’ situation with Iraq and the implications it will have on national security. The event is co-hosted by the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies and the Georgetown University Public Policy Institute.

Dr. Kay has recently resumed his role as a Senior Research Fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies. On Thursday, he will refer to some of his experiences in Iraq as the special advisor in determining the status of weapons of mass destruction and related programs in Iraq. Prior to his employment at the Institute and with the CIA, Dr. Kay was working for IAEA (the International Atomic Energy Agency) and UNSCOM (United Nations Special Commission), leading three arms inspection missions as Chief Nuclear Weapons Inspector in Iraq during 1991-92.
