David Siegrist to Speak at Bioterrorism Conference

Washington, D.C. - On March 10th at 12:30pm, Research Fellow, David Siegrist, will speak at Defense Week’s “BIOTERRORISM COUNTERMEASURES: Requirements & Opportunities” seminar, which is a part of their Homeland Security conference series. Siegrist will be speaking on a bioterrorism countermeasures strategy that appropriately balances protection, detection and surveillance against stockpiles of vaccines. Discussion will include how technology and policy intersects to form biodefense strategy, challenges for microbial forensics and attribution and how this developing field can assist in trade-off analyses for road mapping biodefense R&D, and emergency management decisions that would follow detection of a biological agent. The conference will take place over a two-day period at George Washington University’s Cafritz Conference Center in Washington, D.C.
