Dr. Daphne Kamely Presents at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism in Israel |

September 18, 2007 News Release Contact: Arlington , VA —Dr. Daphne Kamely, a Senior Research Fellow at the Potomac Institute, was an invited speaker at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism’s 7th International Conference at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya, Israel. This year’s conference, attended by 900 participants from around the world, focused on the Global Impact of Terrorism. Dr. Kamely participated in the panel addressing “New Technologies in Counter-Terrorism.” Her presentation entitled “Technologies to Combat Terrorism” described innovative technical approaches to combat terrorism, in particular improvised explosive devices. The discussion that followed centered on technology policy approaches in the United States versus other countries involved in combating terrorism, involved both technical and operational experts interested in the topic. Dr. Kamely’s presentation generated a positive discussion, presented the challenges ahead, and offered follow up for future conferences. Excerpts of the panel discussion were broadcasted on Israeli television and analyzed in various international newspapers and professional journals.
