James Giordano, Ph.D., is the director of the Center for Neurotechnology Studies at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies. At this fall's Pain Week conference for medical practitioners, Dr. Giordano addressed how research into the nature of pain may apply to non-human species.  He argues that in the awareness and treatment of pain, "Our moral regard for others need not stop at our species."
