The discussion highlighted the complexity of the government's challenge to develop and implement the right technological and information solutions to advance our efforts against terrorism and to protect the American way of life. During the discussion, Kim Taipale, Center for Advanced Studies in Science and Technology Policy, provided a detailed brief highlighting knowledge management concepts and network centric theories that must be applied to achieve The Markle Report's recommendations. He discussed the technological challenges facing a government that desires to protect American values, such as privacy, and win the war on terrorism.
