Description

Effective economic statecraft depends on private sector collaboration with the government, raising questions about how to best incentivize, inform, and direct cooperation. Drawing on an article by Gen. Timothy Ray, President and CEO of Business Executives for National Security, this discussion examines  what meaningful collaboration looks like in practice, what it means for firms to incorporate geopolitical exposure into their understanding of fiduciary duty,  and what it would take to build a national security industrial base resilient enough that economic strength itself becomes a form of deterrence.

Madeline Field, Assistant Editor, War on the Rocks
