The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies provides trusted, nonpartisan analysis and policy recommendations needed to address society's most profound challenges, for today and tomorrow. The Potomac Institute, along with Texas A&M University, recently convened representatives from government, industry, and academia to discuss: "Navigating a Reset of the Global Economic Order" at the fifth annual Economic Statecraft Summit. Held amidst a government shutdown, the Summit focused on identifying and understanding major evolutionary issues associated with economic statecraft over the last 18 months.
Among their observations, our researchers identified three major paradigm shifts found below, and developed policy recommendations:
Moderator:
Madeline Field, Assistant Editor, War on the Rocks

Join the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies for this four-part webinar series, bringing together leaders from government, industry, and academia to detail the programs and investments needed to secure the AI manufacturing base on sovereign soil.
The Nation is confronted with a new global arms race to provide trusted compute capabilities and reliable power for assured access to AI meeting a range of economic and national security objectives, including the Genesis Mission and Next Generation Air and Missile Defense. Data dominance and decision supremacy in contested battlespaces or company boardrooms start with a dedicated enterprise of trusted compute capabilities housed in secure facilities. Data centers provide the critical manufacturing base for the tokens of a digital age that will bring innovation to governments, economies, and communities. The AI supply chain, including data, raw materials, semiconductors, power, and cooling systems must be scaled and secured quickly with priorities for trust, reliability, resilience, and uninterruptable operations. Participants will gain insights into: Securing trust by protecting data, intellectual property, and critical infrastructure; Developing the infrastructure needed quickly to deploy Genesis Mission training and innovation. Understanding the evolving business models that value AI tokens in a new digital economy; Meeting the national security and economic imperative for a resilient AI supply chain.
The semiconductor industry, a cornerstone of the global economy, plays a crucial role in shaping the success or failure of many other markets. At the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, we have focused on studying and reporting on various policy issues related to USG semiconductor access, security and US economic strength. Our aim has been on achieving a resilient supply chain of semiconductors for US needs, road mapping the distribution of CHIPS Act funds, emphasizing the importance of long-term R&D to the domestic semiconductor industry, and the role of semiconductors in the race for AI dominance. As a leading voice on semiconductors and a bridge between government and industry, we are reviving a series of dialogs with key industry leaders.
