The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies' quarterly newsletter, Focus, returns with a cover story on the efforts of the Institute's cyber team.  That team - led by BGen David Reist, USMC (Ret.) and Justin Rossi - is engaged in a critical project aimed at defining and combating the risk of a "cyber 9/11."  Also in the Winter 2010 issue: a program developed with assistance from the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab's Center for Emerging Threats and Opportunities (CETO), designed to counter the threat of web-savvy enemies surfing the internet for weapons or data intended to do harm.  Click below to read the Winter 2010 issue.

The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies' Spring 2010 quarterly newsletter, Focus, features a cover story on the Institute's participation in NATO's Turkish Partnership for Peace Training Center in Ankara. In March, Institute CEO Michael Swetnam and Prof. Yonah Alexander, Director of the Institute's International Center for Terrorism Studies, were invited to speak to military officers from 19 countries about the use of strategic communication to combat terrorism.  Also in the Spring 2010 issue: a CETO initiative to help the USMC address climate change. Editor Christopher Brown is a former Senior Research Associate at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies who worked on issues relating to terrorism and the Islamist ideology for a number of years.
